Whoo yesterday was so fun! Haha but i got muscleache from shopping. -_- So in the morning work up half an hour earlier to print options timetable and check schedule for education fair (but alas forget to bring the schedule). Then went to school for the -_- NE Quiz. The questions were either super hard or super diao, but it was quite creative la what with all the buildings and whatever nots. It could have been worse.

Then tree and i went for the education fair thing. Omg it was so sad there were SO little people. The booth/talk people were so friendly it was painful! There was less than a handful of people at the booths and the ks chee was less than a quarter filled up! I don't even want to think about the AVA. -_- Esp for the SMU talk cos before that was the NUS talk and there was erm slightly more people and when the SMU guy came in he was like "are any of you staying for the SMU talk?" then after he went to setup almost everyone scrambled off. Then he went "oh ok i have 5 students left so let's be more informal since there are so few of you". Sigh i feel so sorry for all the fair people! :(

Haha after the fair stitch tree and i went to taka macdonalds for lunch! And stitch and i got milo but they gave ice lemon tea instead. -_- so when i took a sip i was alarmed to find that the milo was sour!!!! We kind of burst out laughing after that. :P Throughout lunch we were sharing childhood stories and how our dads are trying to lose weight etc. Then we went to visit toy shops in taka like BTS! Sigh their toys are so interesting lor sadly they are very ex. I wonder who is rich enough to buy such ex toys for kids since kids are prone to spoiling toys so isn't it very wasteful?

After that we went to j8 to buy birthday presents for our parents. :) I bought sarah huan's birthday present too! And a Precious Moments figurine for my mum whichly was aptly titled "mom, your love makes me bloom" haha! Even though i kind of got the money from my dad but whatever. :P I was so scared that i would somehow break those stuff cos they were quite fragile. Luckily i didn't. Celeste bought a miniature chair for her mum whom she says has an obsession with (real) chairs. Tree bought a handmade keychain for julie! Then we went to BHG cos i wanted to buy some (cheap) jewellery for my mum aside from the figurine. And so here goes one of the most memorable episodes of the day.

(Me examining some brooches)
Shop attendant 1: (starts trying to introduce me to stuff)
(Me observes that the brooches were above 50 bucks and starts to back off)
Shop attendant 1: (continues to persuade me to buy)
Me: Sorry i don't have enough money. I am only a student don't have that much spare cash. (backs off as politely as i could)
Shop attendance 1: You very humorous leh!

??? I don't get why i was humorous! But nevermind there's MORE.

At same counter but with cheaper stuff ($10 necklaces)
(Me examines necklaces and asks tree and stitch which one i should buy)
Shop attendant 2: Why don't you take a look at this one it's very popular this is the last one left! The design is very simple and elegant...
Me: Okay
(Shop attendant 2 stares at me disbelievingly)
Me: (nods confidently) Okay
(After a few moments of silence, shop attendant 2 starts to wrap up said necklace still with disbelieving look on her face)
Shop attendant 1: You buy stuff very 随便 leh!

Well but i don't see the need to think for so long, seeing that you can take in everything at one glance and i like her recommendation anyway! Maybe most people (like ahem) spend super long to decide that's why the shop attendants were looking at me like i was from another planet or something.

Shop attendant 2: (points in our direction and makes a comment in some dialect to shop attendant 3)
(celeste and i instintively turn behind)
Shop attendant 2: don't turn la i am talking about you!
(celeste points at herself and looks incredulous)
Shop attendant 2: your hair so pointy you mean your school allows? i thought most school rules are very strict?
Celeste: erm yeah my hair is allowed
shop attendant 3: did you cut your fringe yourself?
celeste: no
Celeste: (privately to me) what did they say at first?

btw all the dialogue was in chinese. it was amusing to see celeste trying to converse in mandarin cos she looked kind of comfortable. :)

shop attendant 3: are you two twins? (pointing to tree and me)
tree, stitch and me: (stare at one another in horror) NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shop attendant 2: what level are you studying in?
us: sec4
shop attendant 2: really? i thought you were sec2!
tree: (pointing to celeste) and she looks like p6 right?
shop attendant 2: YEAH!!!

muahaha the look that celeste gave is classic. the shop attendant was trying to convince us that we will still grow up to 18 years old but well not much chance of actually gaining much height anymore right? rate of growth has been slower than snail crawling ever since we entered sec school. -_-

So yes after this INTERESTING episode, we left in search of stuff for tree's parents. Gosh we went to this jewellery shop and she started choosing and taking a LONG time. Then she chose one and went to pay but realised it was too ex. And she chose ALL OVER AGAIN!!!! She made the shop attendant take out tray after tray lor feel so sorry for the shop attendant. Anyway after she bought something FINALLY, she decided that she wanted to buy ANOTHER ITEM for her mum!

And SO we went to ANOTHER jewellery stall and looked for a VERY long time. She saw something but was concerned over the fact that it was more of her sis type than her mum type and had this GREAT dilemma thing...-_- Celeste and i were going crazy cos of her indecision. We persuaded her to buy something for her DAD first since she hadn't got him yet. But i must agree it is hard to buy stuff for guys cos there is'nt much that they want. Not like we have $ for electronic stuff, and she says her dad doesn't read. I always buy crappy stuff for my dad too, cos i REALLY don't know what he wants. -_-

Anyway after buying FUNKY SHOELACES to spice up her dad's life, we went BACK TO THE JEWELLERY STALL!!!! Celeste and i commented that her RATE OF DECISION was low because she wasn't CONCENTRATING (cos she kept digressing by talking to us) and we tried to speed it up by applying PRESSURE!!!!! (Sorry too much chem already) In the end she gave up on that one that she was having a dilemma over and bought another one. Whew!

So in the end we ended our shopping spree at 6.30 with each of us carrying a lot of bags of stuff. SO TIRED.

Tree: (complains that it was so late and that she was supposed to go home at 5)
celeste and me: cos of who huh?
me: anyway you live RIGHT NEXT TO j8, i still have a 40min mrt ride before i get home!
tree: it's 34min

SEE YOU KNOW WHY SHE IS SO AGGRAVATING?????? She is like a walking search engine. Maybe she can be jeeves.com or something, since she is so obsessed over wooster. -_-

After buying the cake and stuff i FINALLY reached home at almost 8. Legs were totally breaking cos i had to stand throughout the whole "34MIN" mrt journey. At least my mum liked the figurine and the rose. And she says i can wear the necklace for FAM. -_- And the cake is nice haha.

Btw the wet white shirt part is from the 1995 BBC miniseries that is apparently the most famous scene from that version of P&P. :) Haha. This is really the end! Back to suffering from my shopping-induced muscleaches!
