Whooooooooohoooooooooooo!!!!!!! Finally! In case you don't know what i am being so high about, my pipa kaoji was over today! Haha no more sleepless nights and praccing at midnight (and keeping my parents up with my incredibly gross playing)! And i am glad to say that this time round it was better than last year. I mean obviously i made a lot of mistakes and stuff but there wasn't anything really badly embarassing (like last year's great 指甲 debacle). Oh and i wasnt so nervous cos i kind of tried to maintain this feeling of no-feeling-ness, if there is actually something like that, but yeah i just attempted to numb down all my senses so that i wont the nervousness so much. Actually it kind of worked, but the side effect is that i can't really remember what happened exactly since my senses were not very active...something like that. But whatever.
And today i was supposed to meet weiyi at 1.30. But then i kind of reached early and i saw nina!!!!!! She claims that she made a lot of mistakes but i bet she will still do super-well as usual. And poor little her was standing outside the NAFA building with her huge yangqin... And because i reached too early right the registration ppl were still having their lunch break, so i had to wait about 10 minutes before i registered and went into the preparing room. It was so creepy cos everyone was sitting around stoning and staring at each other and not doing anything. I started changing my 胶布 but was kind of self-conscious/distracted and got it all mixed-up and sticking everywhere. But somehow i managed to get it done in the end but then i still didn't dare to prac cos everyone was STILL stoning. Until the yangqin ppl came in and started to prac. Then everyone else gradually started to prac cos the yangqins were so loud that we were not so obvious. :)
And then the weiyi was so seriously late can. I was feeling so nervous inside all on my own. Plus laoshi told me to wear something formal, so i wore a dress. And everyone else was wearing shirt and shorts/pants. I kind of expected it but laoshi told me to ignore other people and concentrate on myself (something like that, very cliche). Apparently wearing something formal is supposed to give the examiner a good impression. -_- And anyway weiyi turned up in a long-sleeved shirt and jeans. But i kind of expected it anyway so whatever lor. Poor late weiyi was called to go out almost right after she came in, so she had to hurry with her tuning and stuff and barely had any time to prepare. Then after that when i sat outside when she was being examined i couldnt hear anything cos the yangqin and dizi in other rooms were super-loud. Except for the occasional 扫弦 and the last bit when the other instrus stopped playing.
And it was creepy when i was outside cos i was trying to make myself not nervous. And i was laughing uncontrollably and acting idiotically happy. It actually helped to reduce the stress though. Despite looking really stupid. And i was so high that i dropped my tuner. VERY embarassing. Plus i made a face at the registration person. Then when i went in i totally ruined the whatever good impression (supposedly) that my formal dress made on the examiner, by accidentally banging my pipa on the score stand. The examiner was so obviously amused cos she was trying to hide a grin. I wonder whether that helped. Then after that i realised that the chair rocked, and i erm, made a face. Which i suppose led to the examiner telling the registration person to get a non-rocky chair after i finished.
Ok i dont want to go into details, cos i can't remember much anyway. But weiyi and i only remembered to call laoshi when we went into the carpark. And we didn't say much to her. Maybe next week when i go for lesson i will give her a slightly more detailed account. :)
After the exam weiyi and I went to celebrate by going to Junction 8 to watch movie. BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA! It was really cute (the dogs) and weiyi was going crazy over the Chloe's (main character-chihuahua) German Shepherd friend (with a erm, weirdish kind of name). And Chloe's boyfriend Poppy (also chihuahua) is super-weird too, cos he keeps on speaking like Shakespeare...). And the part about Chihuahuas and mighty barks was quite lame. But nevermind the show was really fun in general. And the main character turned from irritatingly snotty to ok-ly nice in the end.
Further movies to watch out for (might go with tanbo or trina and celeste) include: Bolt (i think there is a cute hamster) and Igor (the main character looks ugly, but nevermind everyone knows that cute means ugly but adorable)
